We are looking for inspiring young people aged 30 years and under. This will be awarded to a young person who has set up their own successful business through their own dedicated hard work. Or a person who is an apprentice Someone who have demonstrated drive, ambition and vision to take business to the next level.
Awarded to an individual or business demonstrating the most innovation with regards to marketing, design, manufacturing, performance of services or adapting to the changing market place. It could include improved manufacturing processes, promoting sustainability or design of an innovative product or service.

What and how do you help your local community through your business? Do you or your staff volunteer to help with local issues? Do you give your expertise and time to help with local events, business mentoring, work with schools, charities.
Championing the regions best businesses from the food & drink industry. We are looking for businesses and individuals who are passionate and innovated about the food and drink industry. . Creativity and individuality will meet with top scores.
Hunter Gee Holroyd
Awarded to a business or individual who puts customers at the centre of its service. It could include how the business or individual look after customers and go that extra mile in their services.
The winner of this category is likely to have its roots in food, farming or agriculture. Judges will be looking for a business that contributes to the rural economy and community, has successfully steered its way through the recession and can demonstrate effective marketing and a strong future.

Family businesses are a vital component of the local economy, and this award recognises the best of them. Candidates need to be businesses that are run by at least two members of the same family, and extra credit will be given for a good original concept.

cover a range of possibilities including businesses that: Businesses that have made significant investments in cleaner technology and/or renewable energy to reduce their own carbon footprint, · are developing or adopting new technologies to assist with reducing carbon emissions · are being particularly effective at raising awareness of climate change and encouraging actions to tackle it

This category is for businesses that invest in their employees and see the benefits that arise from attracting, developing and retaining their staff. How has the business has improved with the introduction of these employer led initiatives.

Someone who has passionately worked throughout their working life in their own business or for a business. A person who has dedicated a lot of time to putting Ryedale on the map.
A breakfast and networking event held at 9am on Tuesday 28th Jan 2020 at The Feathers Hotel in Helmsley. Tickets are complimentary to finalists. Extra tickets can be purchased priced £25. It’s a great chance to support and network with a variety of local businesses in the Ryedale area, plus enjoy a delicious breakfast!
