Directions...

From the A1,turn off for Thirsk. Take the A19 for 2-3 miles towards York . Turn left to Coxwold. At the crossroads turn left to Byland Abbey. Then on to Wass. Take the Ampleforth road for 1 mile .We are on the LEFT. Signposted CARR HOUSE with a pheasant logo on. There is no bed and breakfast sign. Please note that if you are using a Sat-Nav that it may direct you to the house across the road which has electric gates.If this happens you need to continue on the road for another 50 yards or so and we are on the opposite side of the road.

Take the TRAIN - HASSLE-FREE- In just over 2 hours you can safely travel  from London Kings Cross to Thirsk -the town where James Herriot ran his practice without the worry of driving. Thirsk is 15 minutes easy drive from here. You can hire a car from Moss Motors in Thirsk on 01845-522042 or Practical on 01845 587232. Approx £35per day. 7.30am-7pm 7 days a week/ far better than arriving at York to find the car hire closed.  www.grandcentralrail.com supporting North Yorkshire and offering good deals
