Afternoon Tea
We have Anna, the 7th Duchess of Bedford, one of Queen Victoria's ladies in waiting to thank for inventing the tradition of afternoon tea. She found it too long to wait between having a light lunch and waiting for her supper so request something from the kitchen to be served in between and so it stands to this day. .

- Coxwold: The School House - Sandra's award winning tearooms is situated opposite the Pottery in Coxwold.
- York: Bettys - The only place to take afternoon tea in York in gracious surroundings and see the famous wartime mirror. Situated in the centre of York on St Helens Square.
- Whitby: The LaRosa TeaRooms - / Enjoy afternoon tea parties here-imagine Alice in Wonderland and the Mad Hatters Tea Party and you wont go far wrong.
- Pickering: Cafe Cocoa, down Smiddy Hill (top end of town). Step in a 1940 teashop which serves delicious cake also gluten free.
